The Arab Islamic Ministerial Committee on Gaza expressed its deep regret at the US decision not to grant entry visas to the Palestinian delegation for the upcoming UN General Assembly to be held in New York in September.
The committee urged the US administration to reconsider and reverse its decision, emphasizing the need to uphold obligations under the United Nations Headquarters Agreement. It underscored the importance of fostering dialogue and diplomacy, and called for building on the Palestinian Authority’s constructive stance and continued commitment to the strategic pursuit of peace.
The committee also stressed the importance of supporting the Palestinian National Authority and President Mahmoud Abbas in advancing the government’s reform agenda and upholding the commitments he reiterated to world leaders—particularly those promoting peace and countering violence, extremism, and terrorism. It warned that any move to weaken the Palestinian Authority amid the current, unprecedented escalation against the Palestinian people would seriously undermine peace efforts, fuel further violence, and prolong the conflict.
