The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) General Secretariat expressed its full solidarity with the government and people of Sudan following the tragic landslide in the village of Tarseen, North Darfur State, which resulted in a high number of casualties.
It also prayed for Allah Almighty’s mercy upon the victims and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
The OIC General Secretariat expressed hope that Sudan would overcome this humanitarian ordeal and urged member states and humanitarian organizations to swiftly and effectively deliver emergency aid to those in need in the affected area.
On Monday, a landslide wiped out the entire village of Tarseen in Sudan ’s western region of Darfur, killing an estimated 1,000 people in one of the deadliest natural disasters in the African country’s recent history.
