The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Al-Budaiwi, strongly condemned the Israeli Prime Minister’s recent statements regarding the displacement of the Palestinian people, describing them as “irresponsible and dangerous.”
Al-Budaiwi regarded the statements as an overt incitement to carry out a full-scale act of ethnic cleansing and a blatant breach of international charters, conventions, and legal norms.
He affirmed that such dangerous statements and actions are categorically rejected both regionally and internationally. They once again reflect the occupation forces’ systematic and aggressive policies aimed at obstructing all efforts toward achieving a just and lasting peace, while deliberately undermining the prospects for establishing an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Secretary-General called on the international community to urgently fulfill its legal and humanitarian responsibilities. He urged swift and decisive action to halt these dangerous statements and practices, and to prevent further escalation that threatens both regional and global stability.
Furthermore, he called on the international community to support the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state, in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant international resolutions.
