Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi announced on Wednesday that the eighth Joint Ministerial Meeting of the Strategic Dialogue between the GCC and the Russian Federation will convene in Sochi, Russia on Thursday.
The meeting, attended by the foreign ministers of the GCC states and Russia, aligns with the directives of the GCC leaders to foster strategic partnerships with all countries and international blocs and expand the Gulf's regional and international influence.
During the meeting, the ministers will explore avenues to enhance cooperation and exchange perspectives on a range of regional and international issues of mutual concern.
The meeting reflects the commitment of both sides to advancing GCC-Russian relations, which have been steadily growing since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for Strategic Dialogue in November 2011.
