Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi has met with UN chief Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York to review and enhance cooperation.
Guterres praised the role and efforts of GCC countries in mediation, and their constant endeavor to promote security and stability globally, stressing that the world needs the council's contributions at all levels.
Albudaiwi affirmed the GCC's keenness to enhance cooperation with the UN to address regional and international issues, foremost among them the crisis in Gaza, and to achieve sustainable development.
He also hailed the recent General Assembly resolution on cooperation between the GCC and the UN, noting it will significantly strengthen their relationship.
