The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned in the strongest terms the heinous attack on a shelter for displaced persons in Sudan’s El-Fasher, reaffirming the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s firm rejection of all forms of violence against civilians, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday.
In its statement, the Kingdom emphasized the urgent need for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Sudan, the preservation of the country’s unity and institutions, and the prevention of further suffering and destruction affecting the brotherly Sudanese people.
Saudi Arabia also underscored the critical importance of protecting civilians and upholding the commitments outlined in the Jeddah Declaration of Commitment to Protect the Civilians of Sudan, signed on May 11, 2023.
The Kingdom extended its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the deceased and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
