The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque announced that the total number of visitors to the two holy mosques during a single week of Rabi Al-Akhir, from Rabi Al-Akhir 18 to 24, 1447 AH, reached 13,535,258, SPA reported.
The total attendance recorded at the Grand Mosque was 4,681,002 worshippers, including 23,994 performing prayers at Hijr Ismail and 2,796,561 performing Umrah.
Attendance at the Prophet's Mosque during the same week totaled 5,168,764 worshippers, with 340,958 visiting Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah and 523,979 greeting the Prophet and his two companions.
The authority noted that it is using advanced technology based on reader sensors to accurately monitor the numbers of worshippers at the main entrances of both holy mosques.
This measure aims to increase operational efficiency by monitoring flows and crowds, thereby empowering the relevant authorities to better manage the crowds in partnership with associated entities.
