Saudi Arabia’s strongly condemned on Friday Israeli authorities and extremist settler attacks against the Palestinian people, the latest of which is the storming of the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the provocation of worshippers there.

It also slammed the reprehensible assault on the Hajjah Hamidah Mosque in the Palestinian village of Kifl Hares, said a Foreign Ministry statement.

“The continuation of these assaults without deterrence undermines international and regional efforts aimed at achieving peace and leads to increasing tensions and perpetuation of the cycle of conflict,” it warned.

“The international community’s silence regarding these practices, and the absence of accountability mechanisms amid ongoing Israeli violations and assaults, weakens the foundations of the international order and undermines the principles of international legitimacy,” it stressed.

“The Kingdom reiterates its firm position in supporting the Palestinian people and in continuing its efforts toward establishing an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant international resolutions,” it added.
