The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) launched its initiative for the rehabilitation and social reintegration of individuals with extremist and terrorist ideologies at its headquarters in Riyadh on Sunday.

The event was attended by IMCTC Secretary-General Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Moghedi and representatives from member states, SPA reported.

This initiative marks a key milestone in the coalition’s efforts to advance its intellectual framework, supporting member states and enhancing their capabilities to counter extremism in all its forms.

The foundational course, held from November 30 to December 4, includes a select group of specialists from four countries: Oman, Malaysia, Somalia, and Guinea.

The group comprises 16 trainees, including supervisors and staff involved in rehabilitation and reintegration programs in their respective countries.

The initiative aims to strengthen the capabilities of member states in rehabilitation and enhance their readiness to reintegrate individuals affected by extremist ideologies, balancing security requirements with humanitarian rehabilitation considerations.
