Saudi Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz received in Riyadh on Friday Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir.

They discussed the Iranian attacks on the Kingdom within the framework of the Saudi-Pakistani Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement, focusing on means to halt the attacks that undermine regional security and stability.

In a post on the X platform, Prince Khalid hoped Iran would “demonstrate wisdom and reason and steer clear of miscalculations.”

Qatar's foreign minister told his Iranian counterpart on Monday that Iran and the United States should engage positively with mediation efforts, warning that maritime routes must not be used as "bargaining tools".

Qatari Foreign Minister and Premier Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani "stressed the importance of all parties responding positively to the ongoing mediation efforts," in a call with Abbas Araghchi, AFP reported.

"He also emphasized the need to open maritime routes, guarantee freedom of navigation, and refrain from using them as a tool for pressure or bargaining," according to a statement released by the foreign ministry.

Bahrain summoned Iraq's chargé d'affaires in Manama on Monday to protest against what it called ongoing drone attacks launched from Iraqi territory against the kingdom and other Gulf Cooperation Council states, the foreign ministry said.
