Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received in Jeddah on Tuesday Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, who is on a tour of the Gulf.

They discussed bilateral relations between their countries and opportunities to support and develop them in various fields.

They also tackled the latest developments in the region and efforts towards them.

The meeting was attended by Saudi Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz; Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz; Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah; Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet, and National Security Advisor Dr. Musaed Al-Aiban; Advisor at the Royal Court Khalid Hadrawi; and Saudi Ambassador to Syria Faisal Al-Mujfel.

The meeting was also attended by Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Al-Shaibani; Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy in Riyadh Mohsen Mahbash; and a number of officials.

Al-Sharaa had arrived in Saudi Arabia earlier on Tuesday.

Nine relief trucks carrying 3,240 food baskets provided by Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) arrived on Saturday in the Aden Governorate, ahead of distribution to the most vulnerable families as part of the emergency response project in Yemen.

The assistance reflects Saudi Arabia’s ongoing relief efforts, delivered through KSrelief, to support food security and meet the basic needs of affected and displaced families in Yemen.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud sent on Sunday a written invitation to Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman to participate in the second GCC-EU Summit, which Saudi Arabia will host in October.

Saudi Ambassador to Oman Ibrahim bin Saad bin Bishan delivered the invitation during a meeting with Oman's Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy.

Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah received on Sunday a phone call from his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi.

The ministers discussed the recent escalation in the region and efforts to address it.

Prince Faisal also received a phone call from British Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs Ed Miliband to discuss bilateral relations, regional developments, and joint efforts by the two countries to address tensions and mitigate their security and economic repercussions.

The call also addressed Houthi militia attacks on King Khalid International Airport.

Miliband underscored the UK's condemnation of Houthi acts of violence targeting Yemen and civilian facilities in Saudi Arabia, expressing the UK's solidarity with both Saudi Arabia and the Yemeni government in confronting these attacks.

Prince Faisal also received a telephone call from his Syrian counterpart Asaad al-Shaibani for talks on regional developments and joint efforts to support regional security and stability.

Shaibani expressed Damascus’ condemnation of the Houthi attack on Riyadh, saying the Kingdom’s security is indivisible to Syria’s and the entire region.

Prince Faisal received a phone call from Bahraini Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani. 

Al-Zayani conveyed Bahrain's sincere condolences to Saudi Arabia over the deaths of citizens and residents in the “heinous terrorist attack” by the Houthi militia. 

He affirmed Bahrain's “full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its complete support for all measures the Kingdom takes to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability, and protect its citizens and residents.” 

The two ministers also discussed regional developments and their countries' efforts to maintain the region's security and stability.
