Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah held talks on Wednesday with his Indian counterpart Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.

Meeting on the sidelines of the informal Foreign Affairs Council in Limassol, the FMs discussed bilateral relations between their countries and ways to strengthen and develop them.

They also addressed the latest regional and international developments.

Saudi Arabia Provides $150 Million in Urgent Support for Yemen

Saudi Arabia has provided Yemen with an urgent grant of oil derivatives worth $150 million to cover the operation of power plants running on diesel fuel and mazout throughout the country.

Ordered by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the move is an extension of the Kingdom’s support for the Yemeni people. Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman will follow up on the fulfillment of the grant.

The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) will oversee the implementation of the grant that will bolster energy generation in the country and improve basic services to ease the suffering of the Yemeni people.

Saudi Ambassador to Yemen and General Supervisor of the SDRPY Mohammed Al-Jaber said the grant is an extension of the Kingdom’s firm support to the Yemeni people, especially as temperatures begin to rise this time of year.

Saudi Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz held a series of meetings with his counterparts from across the Arab world and Pakistan in Makkah on Wednesday.

He met with Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, Lebanese Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmad Al-Hajjar, Iraqi Minister of Interior Lieutenant General Abdulamir Al-Shammari and Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Mohsin Naqvi.

The talks focused on security coordination between their countries. They also tackled issues of common interest.

The visiting interior ministers praised Saudi Arabia’s continued efforts in organizing the Hajj and the integrated services, advanced facilities, and modern technologies it provides, which enable pilgrims to perform their rituals with ease and reassurance.

Saudi Crown Prince: Efforts to Defend the Country Were Evident During Region's Crisis

On behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Supreme Commander of All Military Forces, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received on Wednesday well-wishers on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha.

Well-wishers at the Royal Court in Mina Palace included princes, the grand mufti of Saudi Arabia, senior scholars and sheikhs, senior officials from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, ministers, and the commanders of the military sectors and scouts participating in this year's Hajj.

Offering his congratulations to the guests, Crown Prince Mohammed said: “We implore Allah Almighty to return this blessed occasion to our nation and to Muslims around the world with goodness. We thank Allah Almighty for bestowing upon our country the honor of caring for the two holy mosques and the holy sites, and serving all those who visit them.”

“Your efforts in maintaining the security of your country and protecting its resources are a source of pride and appreciation, and this is a firmly established approach, faithfully upheld by the people of this blessed land.”

“We thank all members of the military and security sectors, the dedicated employees across various government agencies, and the volunteers for their service to the pilgrims and for ensuring their safety and security. These efforts are a direct extension of the broader commitment to defending Saudi Arabia’s security and protecting its sovereignty, a commitment that has been clearly evident during the crises the region is experiencing,” he added.

“We ask Allah Almighty to protect this nation and perpetuate its security and safety.”

Following the royal address, Director of Public Security and Chairman of the Hajj Security Committee Lt. Gen. Mohammed Al-Bassami delivered a speech on behalf of the military sectors participating in the Hajj. He emphasized that since its founding, and guided by the unwavering support of its leadership, the Kingdom has made serving the two holy mosques the core of its mission, the cornerstone of its identity, and the ultimate source of its pride.

Saudi Arabia continues this endeavor with resolute determination and a renewed vision to forever remain the guardian of this great trust, he declared.

He further noted that the successes achieved thus far by the Hajj security plans, under the directives of King Salman and the boundless support of the Crown Prince, have contributed to boosting the quality indicators of Hajj's security and service plans.

The Crown Prince then greeted the attendees and attended a banquet with them.
