The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the heinous terrorist attack carried out by the Iran-backed Houthi militia against a vessel belonging to a Saudi company while sailing in the Red Sea.
The attack caused a fire to break out on the vessel's bow, with no injuries reported.
The ministry described the attack as a blatant violation of international law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, as well as a serious threat to maritime navigation security, the safety of international trade, and energy supplies, SPA reported.
The ministry reiterated Bahrain's full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its complete support for the legitimate measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty, security, stability, and vital interests.
It renewed its call on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to fulfill its responsibilities in putting an end to these terrorist attacks, taking deterrent measures to protect the security and safety of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, Bab Al-Mandab Strait, and other vital waterways, and holding those responsible for these attacks accountable in a manner that preserves regional and global security and stability.
For its part, Kuwait also strongly condemned and denounced the attack carried out by the Houthi militia against the Saudi vessel, describing it as a flagrant violation of international law and a direct threat to maritime security, freedom of navigation, the safety of international trade, and global energy supplies.
In a statement, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed Kuwait's full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, reiterating its support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty and protect its security and interests.
The ministry also stressed Kuwait's rejection of any practices that could undermine the region's security and stability.
