The Muslim World League (MWL) strongly condemned the continued raids and violations targeting Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli settlers and ministers under the protection of the Israeli police, as well as the accompanying attacks on worshippers, provocative practices, and the raising of Israeli flags, the Saudi Press Agency said on Friday.

In a statement issued by the MWL Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, he denounced these dangerous violations, which inflame the sentiments of Muslims around the world, as they constitute a grave assault on the sanctity of Islamic holy sites.

He warned against the dangers of Israel's continued violations of the historical and legal status of the holy sites in occupied East Jerusalem, as well as relevant international laws.

Al-Issa stressed the urgent need for the international community to uphold its moral and legal responsibilities by taking immediate action to halt these violations.

He also highly commended the statement issued in this regard by the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan, Indonesia, Türkiye, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, affirming their commitment to confronting all Israeli violations in the occupied Palestinian territories and their steadfast solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Israeli far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir led hundreds of Israeli Jews into Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque compound on Thursday, breaching the site's decades-old status quo as he marked a Jewish day of mourning.
