Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, held a telephone conversation with British Prime Minister Andy Burnham to congratulate him on his appointment and wish him success in his new role. During the call, the Crown Prince also praised the strong and longstanding ties between the two countries and their peoples.
The British prime minister expressed his appreciation to the Crown Prince for his kind sentiments, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Monday.
During the call, the Prime Minister strongly condemned the attacks carried out by the Houthi militia and its continued threats to freedom of navigation in the Red Sea. He further reaffirmed the United Kingdom's steadfast support for the security and sovereignty of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The two sides also reviewed existing areas of cooperation between the two countries and ways to develop and strengthen them further, as well as discussing a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
