Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah held a telephone conversation with UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs Ed Miliband on Monday, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The Saudi minister congratulated Miliband on his appointment to his new position as UK Governor to the World Bank, wished him success in his new role and expressed his hope of working together to further strengthen bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom.

For his part, the UK foreign secretary thanked Prince Faisal for his congratulations, affirmed his commitment to advancing bilateral relations, and renewed his country's solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He also condemned the attacks carried out by Iran-backed terrorist militias in Yemen against Saudi Arabia and other countries in the region.

The two sides also reviewed bilateral relations, discussed developments in the region, and explored ways to enhance joint efforts to support regional and international security and stability.
