Advisor at the Royal Court and General Supervisor of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al-Rabeeah stressed the importance of the impartiality and the non-involvement in political matters when carrying out any humanitarian work.
He made his remarks while meeting with Executive Director of the World Food Program (WFP) David Beasley in Rome on Friday. The meeting was attended by Saudi Chargé d'Affaires in Rome Faisal al-Qahtani, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome Dr. Mohamed al-Ghamdi and his accompanying delegation.
Rabeeah said that sea and land crossings, which are monitored by the Yemeni legitimate government to limit the smuggling of weapons inside the country, are open, affirming Saudi Arabia's readiness to support the delivery of humanitarian aid through the port of Jazan and land crossings.
The Rome meeting also addressed joint programs and ways to overcome the difficulties facing humanitarian action. The gatherers agreed to review all available alteratives to facilitate the delivery of the humanitarian aid in order to ease the suffering of the Yemeni people.
Furthermore, Rabeeah reviewed the Kingdom’s humanitarian and relief efforts provided through the KSRelief in 38 countries, especially Yemen.
This came during his meeting with Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Italian House of Representatives Fabrizio Chiquito during which the two parties discussed means of cooperation between the Kingdom and Italy in humanitarian and relief fields.
Rabeeah shed light on the role of the Saudi-led coalition forces in facilitating the delivery and protection of humanitarian aid to all areas in Yemen.
He praised the role of the Italian government in supporting the Yemeni legitimate government.
For his part, Chiquito noted the role of KSRelief in alleviating humanitarian suffering of the needy people in the world without discrimination, based on race or religion.
