A burglar escaped with 200 fur coats worth about $650,000 after he robbed a woman's apartment in the eastern city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, the Russian police said on Monday.
Police said the authorities discovered the coats in a garage used by a 42-year-old man suspected of breaking into the apartment at night after he sawed the door while the owner was outside the city, the German news agency reported.
A police statement said the suspect, who had previously been convicted of similar crimes, is facing a major theft charge.
Grand theft in Russia can be punished by imprisonment for up to ten years.
