Defense Minister Yaacoub al-Sarraf stressed on Monday that the security situation in Lebanon “is good and under control.”
“We are living under the protection of the army and security institutions,” he added.
“We will not allow anyone to violate our stability and security,” he vowed.
He hailed in this regard the security measures that the army and all security forces have taken on the occasion of the Christmas and New Year holidays.
These measures have resulted in “remarkable calm,” noted Sarraf.
This has allowed the Lebanese people to celebrate the holidays in security, he stressed.
“At a time when we were celebrating in our homes, our soldiers were securing the borders and preserving the safety of their towns and villages,” remarked the minister.
