Ten people, including the relative of Palestinian teenager Ahed al-Tamimi, were arrested by Israeli forces on Monday, the military and witnesses said.

Fifteen-year-old Mohammed Tamimi is a cousin of Ahed, who was arrested in December after a viral video showed her hit and kick two Israeli soldiers, an uncle, Atta Tamimi, said.

Mohammed was shot in the head with a rubber bullet the day of Ahed's arrest, leaving him with permanent damage to his skull, relatives say.

The overnight arrests were in Nabi Saleh in the occupied West Bank and included four minors, witnesses said.

Mohammed was released later Monday after being questioned, Israel's army said. It was not immediately clear whether the others arrested had been released.

Mohammed said he was taken from his home at 3 a.m. Monday, despite pleas from his father that detention and exposure to cold could endanger his health.

Mohammed told The Associated Press he was held for 10 hours in a cold cell, with his hands cuffed behind his back, before being released. He said he was interrogated about throwing stones at soldiers and organizing protests, allegations he denied.

An army spokeswoman said the arrests were due to the "increase in violent riots and acts of terrorism" in the village.

Nabi Saleh, in the northern West Bank, has long been a major site of opposition to Israel's occupation of the territory.

In the viral video, Ahed and her cousin Nour Tamimi push and slap the heavily armed soldiers, who do not respond to her.

The scuffle took place amid clashes and protests against US President Donald Trump's controversial recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

Ahed Tamimi has been charged with 12 counts including assault and could face a lengthy jail term if convicted.

She has been ordered held in custody until the completion of her trial at an Israeli military court. Her mother, also arrested after the video went viral, is being held until her trial is completed as well.

Israel’s air force carried out intense airstrikes on mountains overlooking a southern Lebanon city on Friday in an attack that the Israeli military said targeted Hezbollah underground assets.

The airstrikes came in two waves on the mountains overlooking Nabatiyeh and bunker buster bombs were used, Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported. There was no immediate information about casualties.

Since the 14-month Israel-Hezbollah war ended with a US-brokered ceasefire in November, Israel has carried out almost daily airstrikes on southern Lebanon. Friday’s strikes were more intense than usual.

The Israeli military said in a statement that its fighter jets struck a site used by Hezbollah to manage its fire and defense array in the area and is part of a significant underground project that was completely taken out of use.

The Israeli army said it identified rehabilitation attempts by Hezbollah beforehand and struck infrastructure sites in the area.

There was no comment from Hezbollah.

An Israeli drone also targeted on Friday an apartment in a two-story building in Nabatiyeh.

Lebanon's health ministry said a woman was killed and 11 other people were wounded in the strike.

"The Israeli enemy strike on an apartment in Nabatiyeh led to a preliminary toll of one woman killed and 11 people wounded," the ministry said in a statement carried by the official National News Agency.
