The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) is continuing its relentless humanitarian efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people in Hodeidah, which has been affected by a humanitarian crisis caused by the Iran-backed Houthi militias.

Between June and September, the center provided a number of services to Hodeidah residents and those displaced from other districts.

KSRelief provided several relief and humanitarian programs which consisted of 11,279 food baskets that benefited 67,674 individuals and 21,621 kilograms of dates that reached 129,726 people.

The center also distributed various accommodation materials, including 70 tents that aided 420 people, 1,620 blankets that were distributed to 1,620 people and 140 rugs that benefited 420 people.

It provided citizens with 1,050 bags containing essentials that helped 7,350 people and 2,687 emergency kits for 18,809 individuals.

The center announced that a total of 227,349 affected or displaced Yemenis from Hodeidah benefited from the aid.

The projects fall in line with the directives of Custodian of Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, to aid Yemen, particularly needy areas, in coordination with UN humanitarian bodies, international organizations and the Yemeni government, represented by the High Committee for Relief.

The Kingdom will continue with its humanitarian role in indiscriminately aiding the Yemeni people via the center.

The center is currently working on a project to improve water supplies and environmental sanitation and nutrition and set up mobile clinics to provide healthcare to the people of the Hodeidah.

Meanwhile, KSRelief Supervisor General Abdullah al-Rabeeah, met in France with the Executive Director of the French Agency for Development (AFD), Remy Rioux.

During the meeting, they discussed means of cooperation between KSRelief and AFD in the humanitarian and relief fields.

Following the meeting, Rabeeah, who is also Advisor at the Royal Court, said that the meetings are intended to build bridges of cooperation and clarify the Kingdom's efforts to alleviate the suffering of people everywhere, without discrimination against color, race or religion.

For his part, Rioux stressed the depth of the relationship between Saudi Arabia and France, praising the efforts and activities of the Center and looking forward to the cooperation.

OIC Welcomes UN Call for ICJ Opinion on Israel's Aid Obligations to Palestinians

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has welcomed the UN General Assembly approval of a resolution requesting "an advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the obligations of Israel in relation to the presence and activities of the United Nations, other international organizations and third States,” expressing appreciation for the efforts of the Kingdom of Norway and all the countries that co-sponsored and supported the draft resolution, SPA reported.
The OIC emphasized that all plans and measures implemented by the Israeli occupation, including legislation affecting the presence, operations, and immunities of the United Nations and its bodies, such as the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), as well as other international organizations and third states in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, constitute a violation of the UN Charter and its relevant resolutions.
“These actions deprive the Palestinian people of essential assistance and exacerbate the humanitarian crisis they are experiencing," said the OIC.
The organization further welcomed the UN General Assembly's adoption of a resolution affirming the “permanent sovereignty of the Palestinian people in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and of the Arab population in the occupied Syrian Golan over their natural resources.”
The OIC called on all states, international organizations, and UN agencies to work toward ending the Israeli occupation and enabling the Palestinian people to exercise their legitimate rights, including the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state based on the June 4, 1967, borders with Jerusalem as its capital.
