Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, capped on Monday his first official visit to Pakistan by forming the joint Saudi-Pakistani coordination council.
The Crown Prince and Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan will co-chair the council that is aimed at developing bilateral ties in all fields.
The two leaders agreed to take advantage of all available channels in order to bolster trade and investment between their countries.
They also stressed the historic Saudi-Pakistani ties, with Khan hailing the leading role Crown Prince Mohammed and his government are playing in service of millions of Hajj pilgrims who visit the Kingdom every year.
He also lauded the Crown Prince’s leadership in several development and investment fields that will help Saudi Arabia advance and prosper in line with its Vision 2030.
For his part, Crown Prince Mohammed underlined Khan’s efforts in improving Pakistan’s economic and social Islamic foundations.
On the regional level, Islamabad hailed Saudi Arabia’s role in resolving the challenges facing the Islamic nation throughout the world. Riyadh, for its part, lauded Islamabad’s important stances on Islamic issues and its efforts in achieving regional and international security and peace.
The two sides highlighted the strength of their security and military ties, agreeing to increase cooperation to achieve common goals.
Moreover, they reiterated their commitment to continue the war on terrorism and extremism, urging the international community to assume its duties in this issue and avoid the politicization of UN practices.
Crown Prince Mohammed had embarked on his Pakistan visit on Sunday as part of an Asian tour that will see him visit India and China. He concluded his trip to Islamabad on Monday.
