La Scala Opera Presents Show in Riyadh
The Saudi Ministry of Culture organized on Friday concert by Italy’s prestigious La Scala opera house at the King Fahd Cultural Center in Riyadh, attracting an audience of 3,000 spectators, reported the Saudi Press Agency.
Led by Maestro Pietro Mianetti, the group performed eight musical pieces of 19th century Italian opera, featuring soprano Francesca Manzo and tenor Riccardo Della Sciucca.
They performed works by Rossini, Verdi and other masters of Italian opera.
The event was opened by the national anthem, which was sung in operatic style by Saudi Arabia’s local talent, Sawsan Albahiti.
The concert is part of the Ministry of Culture’s efforts to attract musical talents and performers from across the globe to enrich the Saudi cultural scene.
