Salah Khashoggi, the son of late Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, criticized on Monday attempts by some parties to exploit his father’s murder to undermine Saudi Arabia and its leadership.

“In a year since my father’s passing, opponents and enemies of the nation in the east and west have sought to exploit his case to undermine my nation and leadership,” he tweeted.

“Throughout his life, my father always rejected such attempts to undermine them and I refuse for his memory to be abused to achieve that after his passing,” he added.

Salah voiced his absolute trust in the Saudi judiciary in achieving justice in his father’s crime and holding the perpetrators to account.

“As Jamal Khashoggi has always said, I will remain true to God and then the nation and its leadership,” he vowed.
