Bahrain’s Interior Ministry announced the arrest of a number of suspects who were plotting attacks in the kingdom.

The suspects, who are linked to terrorists residing abroad, were arrested in a preemptive operation.

The plotters were seeking to carry out attacks that undermine the kingdom’s security and internal peace.

Investigations are underway with the detainees.

The Interior Ministry had previously revealed to Asharq Al-Awsat that Iran was harboring 160 fugitives wanted on terrorism charges and who are involved in plots targeting Bahrain since 2011.
