Bahrain condemned on Sunday a decision by Turkey on the deployment of troops to Libya.

Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed in a statement that Ankara’s “decision is a rejected interference in the internal affairs of Libya and a violation of international legitimacy and relevant Security Council resolutions.”

It added that the decision contradicts with the Arab stance … and impedes efforts to restore peace and stability across Libya.”

The ministry urged the international community to fulfill its responsibilities in addressing the Turkish move, which it said “constitutes a threat to Arab national security and the entire region.”

It stressed “the need to back all efforts to eliminate terrorism, deter all terrorist organizations in Libya and support international efforts seeking a comprehensive settlement.”
