Saudi Arabia Intercepts Houthi Missiles Above Riyadh
The Saudi Air Defense Forces intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthi militia in Yemen towards the kingdom.
Initial reports said that the missile was launched toward Riyadh which resulted in debris scattering on some residential areas. There were no deaths or injuries reported.
The Houthi attack comes only hours after a ceasefire was announced between the Iranian-backed militias and Yemen's legitimate government due to coronavirus fears.
“The launching of ballistic missiles by the terrorist Houthi militia and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards at this time reflects the real threat to this terrorist militia and the Iranian regime supporting it, as this barbaric attack does not target the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its citizens and residents on its lands, but rather targets the world’s unity and its solidarity, especially in these difficult time,” said the official Spokesman of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen Col. Turki Al-Malki.
