Kuwait to Begin Easing Virus Restrictions

Kuwait will not extend its 24-hour curfew beyond May 30, the interior minister said at a press conference on Monday.

Minister Anas al-Saleh added that the cabinet will announce on Thursday the details of a partial curfew and a plan for public life to return to normal gradually.

Kuwait had imposed a full-time curfew from May 10 to May 30 to help to curb the spread of the new coronavirus.

The Ministry of Health said Monday that 504 patients have recovered from the virus, bringing the tally to 6,621.

Other Gulf countries announced that they will be easing restrictions. Saudi Arabia plans a return to normal and will begin relaxing measures on Thursday.

In the United Arab Emirates, Dubai will begin allowing free movement and business activity to restart from Wednesday.

The leadership of Saudi Arabia has sent heartfelt congratulations and well-wishes to Oman on National and to Morocco on the occasion of Independence Day, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Monday.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, sent separate cables congratulating Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tarik, on his country's National Day.
The Saudi leadership wished the sultan of Oman continued good health, and the government and people of Oman steady progress and prosperity, praising the distinguished fraternal relations that bind the two countries.
The Saudi leadership also congratulated King Mohammed VI of the Kingdom of Morocco on his country's Independence Day.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince wished the king of Morocco continued good health and happiness, and the government and people of Morocco steady progress and prosperity.
