The Chairman of the Council of Saudi Chambers and the Board of Directors of Riyadh Chamber, Ajlan bin Abdulaziz Al-Ajlan, said that the Kingdom’s nomination of the Advisor at the Royal Court, Muhammad Al-Tuwaijri to assume the post of Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), comes in the interest of developing the organization’s works and advancing them to new horizons to achieve strategic goals and solve challenges and obstacles facing it.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Ajlan said that the Kingdom “deserves to assume this important position because of its great efforts in supporting the global economy, especially in light of its current presidency of the G20 summit.”
Ajlan noted that the nomination reflected the strength and sustainability of the Saudi economy, which enabled it to overcome the economic crises that resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic, in addition to the advanced ranks it has recently achieved among the countries of the world.
