Palestinian child Mohammed Khaled Hijazi and his family arrived in Riyadh on Thursday where he will receive medical treatment for injuries sustained during Israel’s war on Gaza.

Hijazi, 7, had lost his right eye and suffered serious injury to the left in an explosion near his home in Jabalia camp, northern Gaza, in March.

He is being treated at the directive of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and based on the recommendation of Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Hijazi has been transferred to the King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh.

Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah expressed his gratitude to the Kingdom’s leadership for its humanitarian gesture.

The move reflects Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to support the Palestinian people during crises, particularly vulnerable groups such as children, who often suffer the most during conflicts, he remarked.

The initiative is part of the Kingdom’s humanitarian approach, led by KSrelief, which extends aid without discrimination based on race, gender, or religion, and is rooted in principles of compassion and solidarity, he stressed.

For its part, the Hijazi family expressed its appreciation to the Saudi leadership for providing care for their son and said the gesture was consistent with the Kingdom’s historic support for the Palestinian people.
