Kuwait's civil aviation authority added the United Kingdom to its high-risk list of countries on Sunday, meaning all flights from it are banned, the authority wrote on Twitter.
In August, Kuwait banned commercial flights to 31 countries which it deemed a high risk due to the spread of the coronavirus.
The World Health Organization is in close contact with British officials over a new COVID-19 virus variant, it said on Sunday, advising people to be on guard against spreading the disease.
Several European countries placed restrictions on travel to and from the UK due to concern over the new strain, which is spreading rapidly there.
