Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, received on Friday the first jab of the novel coronavirus vaccine in the Kingdom as part of a Health Ministry national inoculation drive, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Health Minister Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah expressed his gratitude to Crown Prince Mohammed for his “ongoing keenness and follow up to ensure that vaccines are provided to citizens and residents.”
“The gains that the Kingdom has achieved since the beginning of the pandemic is an extension of one of the fundamentals of Vision 2030, which is ‘prevention is the best treatment’,” he remarked.
This mentality ensured that strict health precautions and preemptive measures were adopted, he stressed.
People’s health is a priority and this was demonstrated in how a safe and internationally adopted vaccine has been provided in record time to the citizens and residents, Al-Rabiah remarked.
This has transformed the Kingdom in one of the top countries in the world in fighting the pandemic, stated the minister.
Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Farhan later also received the first jab of the vaccine.
