Saudi Deputy Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman received on Sunday the first jab of the coronavirus vaccine as part of the Kingdom’s national occultation plan.

In a tweet, he said that he had received the first shot, expressing his complete pride in the Saudi people, “who, day after day, have proven their ability to overcome challenges and hardships with unwavering determination.”

He thanked the Saudi leadership that has prioritized the health of its people.

The Health Ministry said Sunday that more than 700,000 people have registered to receive the vaccine.

Ministry spokesman Dr. Mohammed Abdelali pointed out that the increase in number of applicants reflects the society's increasing awareness to fight the pandemic.

They reviewed bilateral relations and ways to boost and develop them in various fields. They also discussed recent developments and efforts to strengthen security and stability in the region.
