Abu Dhabi: Remote Learning for 1st Two Weeks of New School Term

Abu Dhabi has approved remote learning for schools in the emirate for the first two weeks of the new term starting on Jan. 3 to protect the health of students and staff, the Abu Dhabi media office said on Twitter on Wednesday.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has discovered a "limited number" of cases of people infected with the new coronavirus variant in the country, a government official said.

Omar al-Hammadi, an official spokesman of the UAE government, said at a press briefing on Tuesday that those affected had travelled from abroad.

UAE on Tuesday reported 1,506 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the overall tally of those infected with the virus in the country to 204,369.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who is also Prime Minister of the Kingdom, has received a written message from Angolan President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, addressing relations and ways to boost ties in various fields, SPA reported.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah received the message from Angolan Minister of External Relations Téte António, with whom he reviewed relations, ways to boost ties, and issues of common interest, SPA said.
