The “E3” group of European powers - France, the United Kingdom and Germany - said in a joint statement on Monday that they condemned a failed attack at the weekend on the Saudi capital Riyadh.
The Saudi-led Arab coalition said on January 23 that it had thwarted an aerial attack by the Iran-backed Houthi militias towards Riyadh, state-run Al Ekhbariyah channel and Saudi-owned Al Hadath said on their Twitter accounts.
The coalition intercepted and destroyed an "enemy air target".
The Houthis were designated by the Trump administration this month as a foreign terrorist organization in a move welcomed by the legitimate Yemeni government.
