Saudi Prepares to Hold ‘Spears of Victory’ Drills on Sunday

The Saudi Defense Ministry completed on Friday preparations to launch its “Spears of Victory” military drills on Sunday.

The major exercise will take place in the Eastern Province between January 31 and February 11.

The Royal Airforce, Navy and ground forces will take part in the exercise held at the King Abdulaziz Air Base.

Saudi Arabia had kicked off on Wednesday the third joint rehearsal of military maneuvers between the Royal Air Force and the US Air Force.

The Air Force participated in the exercise with its F-15SA fighters, while the US forces partook with the B-52 strategic bomber and F-16 fighter jets.

Iranian President Expresses Regret to Qatar Emir after US Base Attack

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed regret in a phone call with Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani that Tehran's target in retaliation for US strikes was a military base in Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatar's prime minister and foreign minister, said in a press conference on Tuesday.

Iran launched a limited missile attack Monday on a US military base in Qatar, retaliating for the American bombing of its nuclear sites. The US was warned by Iran in advance, and there were no casualties.

Israel and Iran on Tuesday accepted a ceasefire plan proposed by President Donald Trump to end their 12-day war that roiled the Middle East, after Tehran launched the attack in Qatar.
