The Sudanese Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. Izz-Eddin Al-Sheikh, has condemned the sabotage attacks that took place in North Kordofan State.
Sheikh, who praised the efforts made by the state government, ordered imposing deterrent punishment on all those who caused the violent events and tightening security measures to ensure the prestige of the state.
The cabinet of North Kordofan State Saturday held a joint meeting with the state’s security committee and the visiting federal delegation headed by Sheikh.
North Kordofan Governor Khaled Mustafa Adam and the committee members attended the meeting, Sudanese official news agency (SUNA) reported.
Adam delivered a comprehensive review on the security and services’ situation in the state and the damage caused in the recent events as well as the measures adopted by the state’s government and security committee in dealing with these incidents.
“Measures will be taken against all those found guilty or have been involved in these activities, and they will face immediate trials,” he said.
According to SUNA, Police Director in North Kordofan State, Maj. Gen. Dr. Hassan Hamid, also presented a report on the sabotage and looting incidents that happened in a number of towns in the state and measures taken in this regard.
The Interior Minister arrived in al-Abiad city on Saturday, heading a delegation of federal government officials and security and military figures to inspect the security situation after recent riots and attacks of vandalism on the markets and public buildings.
