The Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen said late on Tuesday it has intercepted and destroyed an explosive-laden drone fired by Houthis towards Khamis Mushait in southern Saudi Arabia.

“These acts of aggression to deliberately and systematically target civilians and civilian objects by the terrorist, Iran-backed Houthi militia amount to war crimes,” said Coalition spokesman Col. Turki al-Malki.

“The Joint Forces Command of the Coalition will continue to implement all necessary operational procedures to safeguard civilians and civilian objects in accordance with the customary international humanitarian law,” he added.

The spokesperson for the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, Major General Turki Al-Malki, announced on Sunday morning that air defense systems had intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthi militia toward Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province.

Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense said early Sunday that the threat had passed in Dammam, Dhahran, Buqayq and Al-Hofuf, after an emergency alert was issued through the National Early Warning Platform.

On Saturday, Al-Malki said that air defense systems had intercepted and destroyed a cruise missile launched by the Houthi militia toward the Riyadh region.
