The Saudi Space Commission (SCC) and the Saudi Technology Development and Investment Company (TAQNIA) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to join efforts in the research activities and the development of Saudi human capabilities.
The signing ceremony took place under the patronage of Chairman of the SCC Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, and chairman at TAQNIA Turki Bin Saud Al Saud.
Chief Executive Officer of SSC Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh and CEO of TAQNIA Abdulrahman Alkhathlan signed the MoU.
It aims to reinforce bilateral cooperation and unite efforts in transferring technical knowledge in the space sector, in addition to nationalizing its industries.
It also seeks to maximize the human capital in the space sector through the participation of national cadres, infrastructure, and knowledge.
The MoU falls under the partnership and cooperation concept endorsed by the Commission in dealing with the public and private bodies.
This concept includes developing partnership memorandums with the partners, to boost bilateral cooperation. The goal is to achieve the anticipated results in various joint activities.
Notably, reinforcing partnerships is among the goals of the Saudi Vision 2020.
