The Saudi-led Arab coalition intercepted and destroyed on Friday six armed drones fired by the Iran-backed Houthi militias in Yemen towards Saudi Arabia.
Coalition spokesman Colonel Turki al-Malki accused the Houthis of deliberately launching the aircraft towards civilian locations in the southern Khamis Mushait region.
He slammed the repeated Houthi attacks against civilians as “war crimes”.
The joint coalition command is taking the necessary measures to protect civilians in line with international humanitarian law, he stressed.
