Saudi Arabia Declares Tuesday First Day of Ramadan

The Saudi Supreme Court announced on Monday that Tuesday was the first day of Ramadan after sighting the crescent moon that marks the advent of the holy fasting month.

It congratulated Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, the citizens and residents of the Kingdom and the entire Muslim nation on the occasion.

King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed sent out cables of congratulations to the leaders of Muslim countries to mark the occasion. They in turn received similar messages.

Saudi Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz met Thursday in Riyadh with State Secretary to the Prime Minister of Sweden Johan Stuart.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance and develop cooperation between both countries and addressed issues of mutual interest.
