King Salman Urges Muslims to Shun Conflict, Embrace Dialogue

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz urged on Monday Muslims throughout the world to shun differences and conflict and to embrace dialogue and reason.

In an address marking the advent of the holy fasting month of Ramadan, he said that the world was enduring a very critical situation due to the coronavirus pandemic, in spite of the massive international precautions in place to combat it.

Minister of Commerce and Investment and Acting Minister of Media Majid bin Abdullah al-Qasabi read the speech on King Salman’s behalf.

King Salman also thanked God for the success of scientific research in discovering vaccines, while underscoring the great efforts exerted by the Kingdom in fighting the pandemic.

He also highlighted its contribution along with the international community in securing vaccines to protect its citizens and residents alike.

King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, received several cables of congratulations on the advent of Ramadan. They also sent out similar cables.

King Salman also received numerous calls of congratulations from Arab leaders, including Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq.

Saudi, Brazilian Foreign Ministers Sign MoU to Establish Coordination Council

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan has met with Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira in Rio de Janeiro on the sidelines of the G20 Summit.

The two officials reviewed relations and discussed regional and international developments.

During Tuesday’s meeting, the ministers signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a Saudi-Brazilian Coordination Council, building on the agreement reached between the two countries' leaders during Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's visit to Saudi Arabia on November 30, 2023.

Director-General of the Office of the Foreign Minister Abdulrahman Aldawood and Saudi Ambassador to Brazil Dr. Faisal bin Ibrahim Ghulam were in attendance.
