The Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) announced that the 12th edition of the Sharjah Children's Reading Festival (SCRF) will be held from May 19 to 29 at Expo Centre Sharjah under the theme 'For your imagination'.
Ahmad Bin Rakkad Al Ameri, chairman of SBA, said: "This year, the festival plans to offer an integral bouquet of cultural, artistic, and informative activities to its little visitors, led by a group of prominent experts from around the world."
"These activities aim to enrich the visitors' taste, and enhance their skills with new information and various experiences specially designed to boost creativity and innovation".
Khoula Al Mujaini, general coordinator of SCRF, said: "This year's edition is being held under the theme 'For your imagination' because we want to emphasize to the young generations the importance of imagination in discovering new worlds to innovate, experiment and learn."
"Every great idea or innovation is the fruit of an immersive imagination that plays a key role in transforming someone's vision into a great new reality."
The 12th edition of the festival will kick off under COVID-19 restrictions to ensure the safety of participants and visitors.
The SCRF committee has set an inclusive plan that includes a daily sanitization drive throughout the venue's halls and areas, as well as thermal scanning at all access points, and placement of hand sanitizer stations across the venue. Precautionary measures such as face masks and social distancing will be mandatory throughout the event as well.
