Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz has made a generous donation of SR20 million to charitable and non-profit activities via the “Ehsan” national platform which was recently launched by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) as an integrated technology portal for managing donations.

Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, also made a significant donation of SR10 million to the national platform, reported state-owned SPA.

The donations from the King and Crown Prince come as an extension of their unlimited support for the development of charitable works and the non-profit sector in the Kingdom.

The Crown Prince, who is also the chairman of the Board of Directors of the SDAIA, took a keen interest in the Ehsan platform throughout its developmental stage.

Abdullah bin Sharaf bin Jamaan Al-Ghamdi, Chairman of Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, thanked the Saudi leaders for their generous donations which according to him was an affirmation of “attention being paid by the state’s leadership through being in touch with citizens’ needs and expending for goodness ways.”

Al-Ghamdi clarified that the “Ehsan” platform aims to enhance the values of humanitarian work among community members through integration with various government agencies and maximize their benefit, empower the non-profit sector and expand its impact, activate the role of social responsibility in the private sector and contribute to raising the level of reliability and transparency for charitable work and others.

He added that the platform is a digital, governed, secure, reliable, and transparent system in collecting and managing donations, and it invests data in identifying and assessing levels of need and directing donations to them.

The platform helps various non-profit entities to develop their financial resources, as well as facilitate the donation process for researchers.
