The Saudi Foreign Ministry strongly condemned on Tuesday the Lebanese foreign minister’s offensive comments against the Kingdom and its people and the Gulf Cooperation Council.
“In response to the offensive televised comments by caretaker Lebanese Foreign Minister Charbel Wehbe in which he insulted the Kingdom and its people, the Foreign Ministry expresses its vehement condemnation, underscoring again that his statements violate the most basic diplomatic norms and go against the historic relations between the two brotherly people,” said the Foreign Ministry.
“Given the possible repercussions the heinous remarks may have on ties between the fraternal countries, the Ministry has summoned the Lebanese ambassador to express the Kingdom’s rejection and condemnation of the Lebanese foreign minister’s statements,” it continued.
