British authorities announced the arrest of two men suspects connected to the murder of a Saudi student in Cambridge.

The student, 20, was stabbed to death on Friday.

He was studying at the EF International Language Campuses Cambridge.

Authorities said they arrested a man, 21, suspected of carrying out the murder. Another man, 50, was detained on suspicion of assisting him.

The Saudi Embassy in the UK said in a post on X that it was following up on the incident and that it was coordinating with British authorities to uncover the details of the crime.

Procedures are also underway to fly the victim’s body to Saudi Arabia, it added, offering its condolences to his relatives.

“We understand the attack was carried out by a member of the public in an isolated incident,” said the language school.

“The safety and wellbeing of our students is our top priority. We are providing support to all students and staff affected by this tragic event and have organized counselling sessions.”

“Our thoughts are with the student’s loved ones during this incredibly difficult time and we have offered our full support.”
