Britain's Prince Charles, in recorded remarks during the Saudi Green Initiative Forum in Riyadh on Saturday, warned that there was a "dangerously narrow window" to accelerate climate change action.

Addressing the forum, at which top exporter Saudi Arabia had earlier announced its target to reach zero-net emissions by 2060, Prince Charles said the Saudi Green Initiative and a wider Middle East Green Initiative, which Riyadh will host on Monday, would help accelerate the great progress already made.

He also said the Kingdom has a "critically important" role in diversifying the world's energy mix and tackling climate change.

Citing experts, he said the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 due to start at the end of October must have nationally determined contributions (NDCs) with "clear baselines" and net zero emission targets by 2050.

US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday after talks with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy that he is considering sending more Patriot missile batteries to Ukraine to help Kyiv fend off Russian attacks, Reuters reported.

Trump said the anti-missile missiles are "very hard to get" but that "we are going to see if we can make some of them available."

Trump, at a press conference after attending the annual NATO summit, said Zelenskiy would like to end the war.

Trump said he will speak to Putin about it soon.

"Look, Vladimir Putin really has to end that war," Trump said.
