The Saudi-Pakistani Investment Forum has discussed opportunities to enhance the trade and investment partnership between the two countries.
Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan attended on Monday the forum, held in Riyadh, along with his accompanying delegation.
At the forum, Saudi Minister of Investment Khalid al-Falih referred to the sound and solid Saudi-Pakistani relations, noting that the strategic partnership between the two countries is based on trust and a shared vision for regional and international security.
He said that the two sides could enhance efforts to promote and solidify economic and investment relations, considering their human capital, talents, natural resources, and distinct geographical locations.
Falih pointed out that the Kingdom hosts more than two million Pakistani workers.
He said the forum provides an opportunity to explore ways to deepen investment cooperation to promote development and economic diversification for both sides.
Saudi companies participating in the forum are looking forward to exploring and expanding investment opportunities in Pakistan in energy, petrochemicals, construction, information and communication technology, finance, manufacturing, logistics, and transportation, among others.
"Investment comes at the core of the Kingdom's ambitious Vision 2030 to promote growth and economic diversification, achieve sustainability, and provide opportunities for Saudi young men and women," Falih was quoted as saying by SPA.
He indicated that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz recently launched the National Investment Strategy to create conditions and develop the business environment to make investment attractive to local and foreign investors.
For his part, the Pakistani Prime Minister praised the efforts made by the two leaderships to enhance joint investments and expressed his support to Saudi companies to invest in Pakistan.
Also, at the forum, several Pakistani officials addressed the economic environment in Pakistan and the stimulation of Saudi investments to achieve more growth and prosperity per the vision and ambitions of the two countries.
Officials of various leading Saudi companies shared with the participants their investment capacity and potential to invest inside and outside the Kingdom.
