Saudi Arabia designated as terrorist on Wednesday an association in Lebanon for its ties to the Iran-backed Hezbollah party.

The Kingdom designated the al-Qard al-Hasan Association “for its connection to activities that support the terrorist Hezbollah party.”

The association manages the finances of the party and funds its activities, including military ones, said a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

“Saudi Arabia will continue to combat the terrorist activities of the terrorist Hezbollah in coordination with international friends to target the party’s sources of funding, individuals or entities alike, to limit its terrorist and criminal operations across the globe,” it added.

The designation freezes all of al-Qard al-Hasan’s assets inside the Kingdom. Direct or indirect transactions with or for the association will also be barred.
