Saudi Arabia has stressed the importance of completing the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, unifying Yemeni ranks, and working to restore the state and achieve security and stability.

Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed Al-Jaber, in his Tuesday meeting with the President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) Aidarus al-Zoubaidi, has clarified Saudi Arabia’s keenness to support the efforts of the Yemeni government and alleviate the suffering of the people of Yemen.

“My colleagues and I met in Riyadh with the president and members of the STC,” confirmed Al-Jaber in a tweet.

“I affirmed the Kingdom’s endeavor and keenness to complete the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement to unite ranks and support the efforts of the Yemeni government, especially at this critical stage, to restore the state, achieve security and stability in Yemen, and end the suffering of the Yemeni people,” he added.

The Riyadh Agreement was signed in November 2019 under Saudi auspices. It was inked between the Yemeni government and the STC.
While the political part of the agreement was implemented, the military section of the deal is still underway.

The deal’s military aspect is still stumbling in implementation as each side accuses the other of obstruction.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia continues its efforts to bring the two sides together and unite ranks to confront the Iranian-backed Houthi militias, who are exploiting these differences for their own benefit.
